TRAGODIA SERIES

Tragodia I

Tragodia I centres on a face held between two structures — a halo of rings at the crown, and a fractured lattice extending from the shoulder where a window might once have stood. The eyes are closed, a line of verdigris beneath them left by weathering rather than grief, though the two are easy to confuse in this material.

The halo belongs to the language of icons and saints, worn down here into something closer to scaffolding than glory. What remains is structure, not the memory that structure was built to hold.
